TD hopes Fianna Fáil Senator will be added to Roscommon-Galway election ticket

The party's constituencies committee has been considering adding him as a candidate in the General Election, after he lost out to Ballygar GP Martin Daly in a selection convention.

A senior member of Fianna Fáil says he hopes Senator Eugene Murphy is added to the ticket in Roscommon-Galway. Cavan-Monaghan TD Brendan Smith praised the senator for his "strong track record" in delivering for his community. The party's constituencies committee has been considering adding him as a candidate in the General Election, after he lost out to Ballygar GP Martin Daly in a selection convention.

Senator Murphy has received the support of local delegates in his call for a two-candidate strategy in the election. Speaking to Shannonside News, Deputy Brendan Smith said that the senator works "extremely hard" for his constituents:
