Teachers working abroad could be urged to return to Ireland in a bid to ease staff shortages. The move, which would replicate a similar appeal to healthcare workers during Covid-19, has not been ruled out by the INTO. Local teacher and vice-president of the organisation, Carmel Browne, said the exodus of teachers was having a devastating impact on schools across the country.
