A technical examination is taking place at the scene of a house fire that claimed the lives of a couple in their 50s in South Roscommon overnight.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at Gurth, near Moore just after 2am.
Fire crews from Roscommon Athlone and Ballinasloe all rushed to the scene to the dormer bungalow just outside of Moore.
When they arrived, they discovered the bodies of a man and a woman in their 50s.
Their bodies were removed from the scene and a post mortem is due to take place this afternoon.
Forensic Investigators are currently examining the scene to determine the cause of the fire and it remains sealed off.
