An Post has announced the temporary closure of Elphin post office from next month.
The current postmaster is retiring and customers are now being advised to avail of services in Strokestown.
A spokesperson for the company says the service will re-open at a new premises in the town following an expression of interest from a local business.

The current office will close on June 17th next and the new location must then be refitted by An Post.
In a statement, they apologise for the inconvenience this will cause to customers but say the end result will be a fine new post office for the people of Elphin.
