The second phase of An Chistin in Castlerea can now procced following clarification on funding.
The centre already includes a catering kitchen with multiple training positions where courses in catering are delivered.
The second phase costing up to 2 million euro, involves developing 10 separate incubation hubs for food start-up businesses.
However, tenders received for the development were greater than the funding allocation provided to complete the project properly.
The Department has clarified to Roscommon County Council and Enterprise Castlerea that it will make up the shortfall which means that a preferred bidder can be appointed and work can begin.
Councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice says it’s significant in terms of business and job creation in the county.
