Tenders have been issued for the construction of a brand new food enterprise centre in Castlerea in Roscommon.
The centre, which will be located beside the town's Enterprise Centre which currently houses the An Chistin training centre, will be home to 8 food incubation units, modelled on the hugely successful food hub in Drumshanbo.
It's a joint collaboration between Roscommon County Council and Enterprise Castlerea and has been supported through grant of €1.5 million announced through in the Rural Regeneration and Development Programme in February last year.
Local councillor and Cathaoirleach of the County Council Paschal Fitzmaurice says it's a big day for the town.
