Roscommon County Council is seeking tenders for flood relief works to address ongoing issues near Athlone.
The works in the Bogganfin townland, which is situated on the county border with Westmeath, would alleviate flooding along the River Shannon.
The area of land affected stretches both sides of the railway line from Ganly's roundabout on the N61 to Elm Close housing estate.
Funding for the Bogganfin Flood Defence Scheme will be provided by the Office of Public Works.
The deadline for the receipt of tenders is the 2nd of February and the project is expected to take three years.
