The Cam Defibrillator Group in south Roscommon is hoping to raise enough funds this weekend to carry out maintenance and replacement of some of the devices around the area.
The group bought their first devices in 2009 and the aim was to try to have one available within a 5 minute car journey for everyone living in Cam, Brideswell, and Curraghboy.
Kieran Walsh from the group says that aim has largely been achieved over the years and they also provide the machines at two schools.
Kieran Walsh says some machines need preplacing at this stage, and they also need to carry out maintenance and training.
