Over 100,00 people are expected to visit the newly refurbished Strokestown Park and Famine Museum over the next 10 years.
The five million euro revamp of the facility will be ready to welcome visitors by the end of next month.
It boosts a new famine museum, cafe and events centre while conservation work is continuing on the house itself.
State of the art audio and visual technology has been added to the centre with visitors now offered an interactive experience.
Locals in the Strokestown area will be invited to attend a special open day prior to its official opening to the general public.
Speaking to Shannonside FM General Manager John O'Driscoll it will be of huge benefit to the region.
