Thousands of people across the Shannonside region are facing into their seventh day without power this morning. The ESB says it has restored electricity to 660-thousand homes since Storm Éowyn but the west and northwest remains badly affected. In Roscommon, Boyle is one of the worst-hit areas with 1,640 premises still without electricity. The Roscommon area has around 700 premises without electricity while over 300 are still affected in Rooskey. There are over 600 still without power in Castlerea while over 300 premises are still in the dark in Athlone.
In Longford, similar numbers are affected with over 1,500 without power. There are also over 300 still without power in Ballymahon and around 200 in Edgeworthtown.
Meanwhile, in County Leitrim, Carrigallen is one of the worst affected areas in the region with over 2,000 premises still awaiting restoration. 905 premises in Carrick-on-Shannon also remain without power this morning.
