Over 6,000 homes and businesses in the Shannonside Region still remain without power this evening. Nationally, Storm Debi has resulted in at least 100-thousand houses, farms and businesses without electricity at some point over the past 24 hours. Longford has been the worst affected with over 3,000 customers still affected. The Lanesborough and Edgesworthstown areas are two of the worst hit in the county by power outages.
Meanwhile, Roscommon has currently over 2,000 customers with no power. The Roscommon town area has over 1500 customers affected whilst the Ballygar area has over 400 premises without electricity. Leitrim is reporting the fewest properties affected with most areas of the county having had power restored. Parts of the Carrick on Shannon and Carrigallen areas were most affected by the storm. The ESB are now reporting that they hope to have power restored by 12pm tomorrow.
