Three men have been arrested and charged as part of an investigation into reports of fake tradesmen operating in county Westmeath.
They are due to appear in court this morning.
On Thursday, November 3rd, three men called to the home of an elderly man in Mullingar identifying themselves as builders.
They claimed the man's roof needed to be repaired, but completed no work after a large sum of cash was handed to them.
Yesterday, two men in their 40s and a third in his 30s were arrested at the property and questioned at Mullingar Garda Station.
They are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this morning.
