Each composer will receive 2,500 euro, together with additional supports, to write a 6 minute piano solo based on a literary text with a local theme.
Bianca Gannon's piece, Loch Cé, is based around the section on Lough Key in Lady Gregory's book "Gods and fighting men" where she used to holiday as a child.
The second recipient, Peter Leavy, has written a piece entitled "The Last Flame" based on the first hand account of the fire that destroyed Rockingham House in 1957.
While Fiona Linnane, will compose a piece around the story of Margaret Cousins, describing it as a musical journey from Boyle to Madanapelle, India.
The premier of each of the works will take place on the 28th of July in King's House, Boyle during the Boyle Arts Festival.
