Three gardai have been injured after a public order incident and small fire in Coolock in Dublin.
A man's been arrested after trouble broke out following a protest at the former Crown Paints site.
Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade responded to a public order incident and small fire in Coolock last night.
The Garda Public Order Unit wearing helmets and with shields attended the scene at the former Crown Paints site on the Malahide Road after protestors gathered for a protest, which passed off peacefully.
Three gardaí have been injured and one guard has been transferred to hospital for treatment for facial injuries.
Gardai were subjected to both verbal and physical abuse including rocks, concrete bricks and other objects being thrown at them and they needed to use force including pepper spray and their batons.
Dublin Fire Brigade says two fire engines from North Strand fire station attended the fire at the site which it contained.
A section of the Malahide Road which was closed for a time has now fully reopened.
The man in his 20s who was arrested has been brought to a garda station for alleged public order offences.
