Just over 75 per cent of motor tax transactions were conducted online in the Shannonside Northern Sound region last year.
The latest figures were released as part of a National Oversight and Audit Commission report for 2022.
Statistics show that the number of online transactions have steadily increased in the last eight years.
The Local Authority Performance Indicator Report shows that Cavan had the highest number of online transactions at 83 per cent while Leitrim was next with just over 80 per cent.
Longford and Monaghan motorists completed around 78 per cent of their transactions online while Roscommon was the lowest at 75 per cent.
Nationally, the latest figures show a substantial increase in online transactions since 2016 with the percentage spiking in 2020 and 2021 during Covid-19.
86 per cent of transactions were conducted online in 2021 while last year saw a notable reduction with 81 per cent of motorists choosing the online method.
