People living the Shannonside region with American Social Security numbers are being urged to apply for a once-off grant from the US government.
President Donald Trump put in place a once off Covid 19 economic impact payment of 1,200 dollars for every person with an IRS number
earlier this year and the deadline had been extended until 12pm tomorrow.
It's understood that people who can apply for the grant need to have paid some tax in the USA within the last two years.
People are being advised to log onto the IRS website irs.gov/coronavirus to register for the subsidy.
Roscommon Councillor Tony Waldron says people are not being contacted by the IRS to apply, but the process itself is straightforward:
