Towns and villages in the Shannonside NorthernSound Region are being awarded almost 673,000 euro in the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
The focus is on outdoor enhancements adapting to life post pandemic and include adapting outdoor spaces for social gatherings, dining or the hosting of outdoor events and the purchase of marquees and stage equipment to support local festivals and events.
Fourteen towns and villages are to receive enhancements under this package.
In Monahgan it includes 25,000 euro for Iniskeen, Lattan and town in the Monaghan Municipal District, with 40,000 euro for town and villages the Ballybay Clones Municipal district.
In Leitrim, Keshcarrigan will receive 9,000 euro, Mohill 10,500 euro and Drumsna 4,400 euro.
In Roscommon, Monkesland will benefit from 40,000 euro, Boyle also is recieving 40,000 euro, with 24,000 euro for Brideswell and 25,000 euro for Dysart.
In Cavan 40,000 euro is going to Ballyjamesduff with Ballyconnell, Kingscourt, Ballinagh and Arva all receiving between 24,000 and 25,000 euro each.
Two Longford towns are on the list, Edgeworthstown is to benefit from 40,000 euro in enhancements with Moydow also being successful for 25,000 euro
Funding for the fit out of broadband connection points is also being allocated.
Forty thousand euro is being provided for both Monaghan and Leitrim with 24,000 euro being awarded to Roscommon and 21,000 euro being allocated for county Longford.
Minister Frank Feighan and Independent TD Denis Naughten are welcoming the allocations.
