Plans to introduce traffic calming measures for the village of Tarmonbarry on the N5 at the Roscommon/Longford border are being warmly welcomed by a local councillor.
Roscommon council has published proposals which will see the existing road being redesigned, and new paved areas provided alongside it.
A signalised controlled Pedestrian Crossing is also to be installed in the village as part of the plans to improve pedestrian infrastructure and safety.
Anyone who wants to see the plans can arrange to collect a copy from Roscommon Council offices until the 20th of next month.
Local councillor Tom Crosby says he believes the works will make a big difference in the village and will help residents, businesses, and tourists alike.
