It's hoped temporary traffic lights on Mohill's main street will be removed next week.
That's according to Councillor Thomas Mulligan who says as work progresses to Lower Main Street traffic will be diverted via the one way system on Glebe Street.
The Mohill Councillor acknowledges there has been some delays particularly at school times but hopes there will be a better flow of traffic once the lights are taken down.
It's understood work is also taking place at night to ensure minimal disruption and will continue for several more weeks.
Speaking to Shannonside FM the Fine Gael Representative says the work taking place is essential for the town.
