A local TD hopes to engage directly with the Transport Minister over the lack of funding for the N4 upgrade.
Deputy Robert Troy acknowledges there is disappointment following the non-allocation of funds but he says he is now working with Minster Eamon Ryan to find a solution.
He believes the TII should reconsider their decision and says a commitment was made during negotiations on a Programme for Government that any road schemes that were in the pipeline could progress.
However, the proposed motorway expansion has now been starved of funding according to the local Minister.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound he said he hopes the Longford/Mullingar road project can progress in 2022.
