A tree which had stood in Strokestown for over 300 years has been felled by Storm Darragh.
It was known locally as "The Big Tree," and once stood at St. John's Church in the town.

Community activist Jonathan Cassidy took to social media to share the news, which he said has now 'changed the look of the area.'
Speaking to Shannonside News, Jonathan Cassidy said the people of Strokestown have fond memories of the tree:
