The trial of four men accused of abducting and assaulting Kevin Lunney has been put back until March.
Mr Justice Tony Hunt said this morning that "following meetings at a higher level" the twelve week trial will not start until at least a month.
The case was originally due to start January 11th, before being delayed to February 1st because of Covid-19.
66 year old Luke O'Reilly from Mullahoran Lower, Kilcogy, Co Cavan; 25 year old Darren Redmond from Caledon Road, East Wall, Dublin 3; and 38 year old Alan O'Brien of Shelmalier Road, East Wall, Dublin 1, are all charged with false imprisonment and assault causing serious harm to the director of the company formerly known as Quinn Industrial Holdings, since rebranded Mannok. at Drumbrade, Ballinagh, Co Cavan on September 17, 2019.
Another male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is also charged with the same offences at the same date and location.
Mr Justice Hunt said today that remote hearings were taking place in the courts but pointed out that the trial of the four accused men did not "fall into that category".
The case is now listed for February 24 as matters are being "reviewed upstream" on the previous day, with the hope then that it can proceed on March 1st or the next suitable date.
