The trial of a man accused of killing a Longford woman in the US has been adjourned to October. 41 year old Sarah McNally, originally from Longford Town, had been living and working in the states for a number of years before her death. Sarah was killed on the 30th of March this year following an attack at her workplace, the Céilí House Bar in Maspeth, Queens. Marcin Pieciak has been charged with her murder and two counts of possession of a weapon.

The 36 year old was reportedly in a relationship with the Longford woman before her death. Witness statements claim Pieciak attacked Sarah as she worked behind the bar at the Céilí House, stabbing her 19 times. He then reportedly inflicted stab wounds to his own neck and was subdued by patrons at the bar.

He was arrested by the NYPD following medical treatment and was charged with her death. Sarah McNally was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where she was pronounced dead, with her body later returned home to Longford for burial. According to the Irish Times today, Marcin Pieciak of 76th Street, Glendale, Queens appeared before Justice Ushir Pandit Duran via video link. The Judge has now adjourned the murder trial until October the 1st.
