Tributes are being paid following the death of Longford Arts Officer Fergus Kennedy.
Mr Kennedy who died suddenly on last Friday had served as Arts Officer for Co Longford since November of 1996.
In a statement expressing sadness at the death Longford County Council said Fergus Kennedy had been a great supporter and promoter of the arts and was well respected throughout the wider arts community.
The local authority said he had left a great legacy, bringing the arts, in many forms, to communities across the county and will be remembered fondly by those who worked with him.
Longford County Council elected members and employees will form a guard of honour on this Wednesday before a private cremation ceremony.
The Council Offices and Libraries will be closed as a mark of respect on Wednesday morning, reopening at 2 o' clock on Wednesday afternoon.
