The death has taken place of the Roscommon man who founded the well-known Institute of Education.
Ballaghaderreen native Raymond Kearns passed away last week age 91.
The former educator was previously employed as a maths teacher in Gonzaga College and opened the education hub on Dublin's Leeson Street in 1969.

He is survived by his wife and five children and his funeral will take place tomorrow in Donnybrook.
