Tributes are being paid to former Roscommon County Councillor and solicitor Tom Callan who died on Tuesday.
The 93-year practiced law in Boyle for six decades as well as being a local representative in the 1950s and an unsuccessful General Election candidate for Fine Gael in 1982.
The former solicitor has been described as a gentleman and a true professional and Fine Gael Councillor Liam Callaghan has expressed his sympathies to the family on the death of a man who he described as well-liked and who will be missed by people not only in Roscommon but across Connacht. His private funeral will take place this Friday at 11am in Boyle.
