Tributes paid to Minister Humphreys following decision not to seek re-election

In a statement this morning, Taoiseach Simon Harris described the Cavan-Monaghan TD as a "trailblazer in Irish politics", a great friend, and a dedicated Minister, and Deputy Leader of the party.

Tributes are being paid to Minister Heather Humphreys, following her shock announcement that she will not be seeking re-election at the upcoming General Election.
The Cavan-Monaghan TD confirmed the news on Saturday evening to Shannonside Northern Sound News.

Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Longford Fine Gael senator Micheál Carrigy thanked colleague Minister Heather Humphreys for all her work:

Meanwhile, Cavan-Monaghan TD Niamh Smyth described Minister Heather Humphreys as a 'pioneer for women in politics.'
