Tributes have continued to pour in for Lynsey Bennett 24 hours after her family made the announcement of her passing.
The Longford Cervical Check campaigner passed away peacefully at home on Thursday surrounded by her family and friends.
Fellow activist Vicky Phelan paid a tribute on social media to Lynsey saying she had an amazing will to live which no doubt kept her alive for as long as she did beyond the six month prognosis that she was given.
Courts correspondent Frank Greaney said in a twitter post yesterday that he was devastated to hear of Lynseys untimely death he said she like so many other brave women brought the horror of the cervical check scandal home to us all.
On the Late Late show last night Ryan Tubridy spoke of his sadness on the loss of Lynsey:
"I remember going into meet her in the dressing room and we did Facetime with her family back home. She radiated a lot of goodness, full of kindness, she was a fighter, and she was one of life's fighters."
"She kept persisting, she was of them people and she was an important women here in Ireland as there was a lot of women that has been poorly treated and a lot of people didn't get what they deserved and unfortunately Lynsey was one of them."
"Our thoughts are with her and her girls Zoë and Hailee."
