Tributes are being paid to a Longford farmer who has passed away following an accident over a month ago.
Kevin Skelly from Carrickboy, suffered significant head injuries in a fall on March 28th.
He died in hospital in Dublin last night.
The married father of four was discovered by a relative at his farm at around 7pm on March 28th last after he is believed to have fallen from bales in his farmyard.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the well-known farmer was airlifted to hospital in Dublin.
He was being treated for significant head injuries at Beaumont Hospital for the last six weeks, but passed away peacefully surrounded by his family last night.
Mr Skelly is survived by his wife Catherine and four children, and no funeral arrangements have yet been confirmed.
He has been described as a great neighbour and friend to many farmers in the south Longford area.
