Longford-Westmeath TD Robert Troy has not ruled out Fianna Fáil going into government with Sinn Fein after the next general election. He was selected to represent Fianna Fáil in the election at a Westmeath selection convention in Mullingar last night. A Longford convention will be held in the coming weeks, when another sitting TD, Joe Flaherty, will be chosen.

The party will run a total of two candidates in the five-seat constituency. Deputy Troy says his party should keep its coalition options open after the election:
