A multi-million euro investment in Shannonside's only university has been hailed as good news for the wider region. The Technological University of the Shannon announced today that €12 million has been secured for the Athlone and Limerick based institution through a TU RISE funding call.
TU RISE is co-financed by the Government of Ireland and the EU and is designed to encourage agile research and innovation, increased levels of post-graduate research, and enable cross-cutting research-led teaching. According to TÚS, this funding will be on facilitating innovation strategies, strengthening existing partnerships and forging fresh alliances with local business communities.
