A man and women arrested after Gardaí seized over €8,000 worth of illegal drugs in Longford Town have been released without charged. The Longford Divisional Drugs Unit and local Gardaí conducted a search of a premises in the town earlier this week under operation Tara. During the search, €8,500 of suspected heroin was seized and two people in their 30s were arrested under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice drug trafficking act .
The two were questioned at Longford Garda Station and released with a file to be prepared by the DPP. The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks at international, national and local level.
