Two teenagers have died in a crash on the Roscommon/Mayo border.
Another teenage boy has been seriously injured.
The crash happened at around 8 o’clock last night.
A tractor and a car collided near the soccer pitch at Levallyroe, Cloonfad, on the N83.
Two people in the car died – a teenage boy, understood to be around 14 years old, and a young man, who is in his late teens.
Another teenage boy, who was in the car, was seriously injured and he is currently in Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar. All three are from the Cloonfad region.
The driver of the tractor, a man in his 50s, was taken to the same hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening.
Local councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice says it’s a tragedy.
The road is closed for a technical examination by garda forensics.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
