Two friends who live in Mullingar have been taking part in the '12 dips for Christmas' challenge.
It is a challenge set out by the Irish Heart Foundation, which yearly sees a great turnout and encourages people to donate and participate in the worthy cause.
Mitko Kozhuharov and Katie Chapman were among the many who dove into the icy waters of Lough Owel throughout December.
