Two Gardaí have been shot and a man arrested after a siege in west Dublin.
Both officers have been taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí responded to reports of gunshots in the Whitechapel Grove area of Blanchardstown last night.
Officers took cover behind a patrol car while shots were fired between armed detectives and a man, with the car hit a number of times with bullets.
Two male detectives, both in their 30s were hit, one in the foot and another in the hand.
A cordon was set up in the area and nearby houses were evacuated.
Following negotiations, two guns, an automatic pistol and a handgun were surrendered from the house, and a short time later a man in his late 30s was arrested.
He's being held at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
