Two takeaways located within 100 metres of each other in Co Longford were broken into yesterday costing the owners around 1,500 euro through damage or theft. The Village Inn and Tasty Kebab and Pizza, on Main Street, Lanesboro, were both targeted in the early hours of the morning. Gardai say investigations are ongoing into both incidents.
Donnie has run the Village Inn for over a decade, and this is the first time it has been burgled. He says around 1,000 euro in damage was done:

Tasty Kebab and Pizza was broken into around the same time, and owner Rifaqat Hussain believes both were carried out by the same person. He says up to 500 euro was stolen in the incident:
