Regional farmers have won major awards at the Sustainable Farmers Awards last week.
The Sustainable Farmers Awards is a partnership between the FBD National Livestock Show, Bord Bia, Teagasc and the Irish Farmers Journal, which rewards the endeavours of farmers who implement sustainable practices.
PJ Finnerty from Brideswell in South Roscommon received the Lamb Producer Award, while Leitrim's Patrick Hiney was presented with second place in the Bord Bia All Ireland Quality Potato Championship at the Tullamore show.
Cavan's Samuel Hill was also awarded for his beef finishing practice at the show.
Minister for Agriculture Charlie McConalogue presented the awards, which honours top performing sustainable beef and sheep farmers.
