Two local Hospitals are under significant pressure as 91 people are waiting for a hospital bed in the Shannonside Northern Sound Region this morning. The Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital is the fourth busiest in the country today with 49 people waiting. The Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar is also under pressure this morning with 26 people waiting for a bed.
Our Lady's Hospital in Drogheda has 11 people waiting whilst Cavan General Hospital is currently dealing with 3 people on trolleys according to the INMO. Meanwhile, Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe has 2 people waiting for a bed. Nationally, 670 people are waiting for beds in hospitals around the country this morning.
