A man in his 70s has died after the van he was driving entered the water at Banagher Marina in Co Offaly.
It happened at around half-past-5 yesterday evening, and there was nobody else in the van at the time of the incident.
The scene is currently preserved, and Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Meanwhile, a man in his 60s has died after a suspected hit and run in Tipperary.
He was found on the side of the road near Clonmore Village, close to Templemore, at around 1 o clock this morning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the road is closed this morning for a technical examination.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have dashcam footage to contact them.
