Gardaí in Longford recently arrested two motorists for drug driving offences. On Thursday the 15th of August, Gardaí were carrying out a checkpoint and stopped two vehicles at the Cartron Road N5 underpass. Both drivers were subjected to a roadside oral fluid test and both failed when cocaine was detected.
They were both arrested and taken to Longford Garda Station where blood samples were taken. Gardaí say one of the drivers was also driving on a learner permit and their vehicle was impounded. Court proceedings are now set to follow.
