Two motorists are set to face court dates following their arrest in Longford over the bank holiday weekend.
The two separate incidents followed Garda checkpoints in the town during the long weekend.
The local Roads Policing Unit stopped one car at Ballyminion, off the N5, with the motorist then testing positive for cannabis.
They were arrested with court proceedings to follow.
Separately, another motorist in the town failed a road side breath test after being stopped for speeding.
They were arrested and will appear in court in the future.
Local Gardaí are urging motorists to drive with care and not to get behind the wheel of a vehicle while intoxicated.
