Revenue has seized two parcels of cocaine worth more than 140,000 euro in Athlone.
The illegal drugs originated from the Netherlands and were due to be sent to addresses in Louth and Armagh.
Separately, on Saturday, at Mullingar District Court, Revenue officers were granted a three-month cash detention order by Judge Bernadette Owens following the seizure on Thursday (01/09/2022) of €5,420.
The cash, which originated in Poland, was discovered as a result of routine profiling by Revenue officers examining parcels at a premises in Athlone. It is suspected to be the proceeds of, or intended for use in, criminal activity and is detained by Revenue in accordance with proceeds of crime legislation
Separately, detector dog Milo helped Revenue seize 10,000 illegal cigarettes in Cavan late last week.
The cigarettes arrived from Latvia and a man in his 30s is being questioned over the discovery.
