Two properties were damaged after a group of up to 40 people were spotted walking around Ballaghaderreen in balaclavas last night.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí responded to reports of a group of individuals gathering in Ballaghaderreen shortly after 9pm on Saturday.
"Those directly involved had dispersed on arrival of Gardaí. Damage was caused to an unoccupied house during the incident. Minor damage was also reported to a neighbouring property. No arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing."
Independent Ireland TD Michael Fitzmaurice says locals were concerned.
It comes ahead of a crime protest in the west Roscommon town at 5 o'clock this evening, starting at St Nathy's Cathedral car park before making its way down to the garda station at the other end of town.
Ballaghaderreen Concerned Citizens say they are worried about a rise in antisocial behaviour in the town recently.
Gardai are investigating a serious assault on a teenage boy in Main Street at 12.10am on Friday.
Local Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane is encouraging people to join the protest this evening:
