Two well know local sporting institutions are seeking to upgrade their grounds in Longford and Roscommon.
Ballymahon GAA Club is seeking to substantially modernise their South Longford pitch infrastructure.
The Club have applied to Longford County Council for the upgrade of the existing floodlighting at Leo Casey Park on the Mostrim Road.
Plans include the erection of eight 18 metre high lighting poles with LED sports floodlights.
LED Sports flood lighting is specially designed to resist serve weather and fully illuminate playing surfaces.
County planners will decide on the application in February.
Meanwhile in Roscommon, the Lisnamult Residents & Community Association Sports Park have submitted plans to construct a spectator stand at their pitch.
The structure would be located along the soccer pitch with the application also including all associated site works.
A decision on the submission will be made by Roscommon County Council in the new year.
