Service users are facing waiting lists of up to 2 years for face-to-face speech and language therapy in Longford.
The services offered at the Phoenix Centre on the Grounds of St. Joseph's Care Centre in Longford have faced a series of interruptions.
In-person speech and language therapy resumed at the centre in December last year, following an extended pause for several months due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, building closures and staff redeployment.
While teletherapy has continued to be supplied since the closure, demand has outstripped capacity, with waiting lists now approaching two years for in-person appointments.
The issue was raised at this week's meeting of the Dublin Mid Leinster Regional Health Forum by local Councillor Paul Ross.
