Uisce Éireann issues boil water notice for over 4,000 Castlerea customers

Uisce Éireann has issued a Boil Water Notice for over four thousand customers in Co. Roscommon.
The notice has been announced to protect the health of 4,400 customers who are supplied by Castlerea Public Water Supply.

Recent heavy rainfall has caused increased turbidity in the water, impacting the treatment process at the Longford Springs water treatment plant.
Drinking water experts from Uisce Éireann are working to rectify the issue in consultation with the HSE.
In the meantime, it is advising customers to boil water before use until further notice.
