Uisce Éireann is urging customers in south Leitrim to conserve water due to an increase in usage in the Carrick-on-Shannon area. It has asked households and businesses supplied by the Carrick water treatment plant to be mindful of their water usage. The company says there has been a notable increase in water demand across the south of the county in recent days.
Crews say they have also repaired bursts on the network in the Ballinamore area and further leakage reduction works are underway in Leitirm. A spokesperson said it was important customers considered simple yet effective ways to conserve water to ensure adequate supply.
