The Group of Unions at Bord na Mona is calling for the sale of the Derrinlough site in Co. Offaly to be stopped.
SIPTU claims by putting it up for sale, management is breaking the terms of the deal brokered over the closure of the Briquette factory.
The union says it shows little regard for the legacy of the thousands of workers who made the company a success.
SIPTU's divisional organiser, Adrian Kane says putting it up for sale is not right:
'We'll I'd much prefer to be here fighting for the jobs that people who have lost their jobs, but this isn't acceptable.
I've called this an act of industrial vandalism and unfortunately the current management team at Bord Na Mona has no sense of the historic importance of this building and the thousands of workers who worked here.'
