Up to 3,000 people affected by power outages in Longford this morning

A total of around 3,000 households and businesses are without power in Longford this morning.

Almost 600 are affected by an outage in the Melview area near Longford town and a further 2,400 are affected by another outage in the Drumlish area.

It's understood the Melview outage began just before 8 this morning and the estimated restoration time is set for around now.

The Drumlish outage began around a quarter past eight and the estimated restoration time there is 12 noon today.
