Appointments at hospitals serving the Shannonside region face another set of cancellations today as the cyber attack continues to affect the HSE IT systems
In Tullamore, Galway Roscommon and Sligo hospitals all routine outpatient routine, outpatient radiology (x-rays, ultrasound, MRI, CT), vascular outpatient appointments (doppler tests), cardiac investigations, including stress tests and echo tests are cancelled.
In Sligo, Roscommon and Galway hospitals all elective inpatient and day case procedures are cancelled. A small number of procedures may go ahead. These patients will be contacted directly.
In Tullamore, planned inpatient and daycase procedures are continuing as normal. If you are attending for an appointment, bring your most recent hospital letter.
Management at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar say all services are operating but with delays. In Sligo and Galway, maternity services and dialysis treatment will go ahead. People are asked to attend chemotherapy appointments unless contacted and advised otherwise.
Patients can expect significant delays in the Injury Unit as existing IT systems are not in use and the manual workarounds in place are time-consuming.
Where possible, people are asked to bring existing patient numbers or board number with you when you come to the hospital. This is found on appointment letters, test results, or blood tests.
